We've got a fair bit of 2019 left, but I'm pretty confident that this will go down as my gaming surprise of the year. A Plague Tale: Innocence hit me hard and without warning. I'm only halfway through the story but its technical beauty and emotionally powerful performances are pushing it towards the top of the 2019 pile for me. Asobo Studio has announced itself as a developer to watch.

It's still in beta on Android phones, but that new Steam Link app is going alright so far! Mine doesn't seem to like Borderlands 2 in motion but other games are crisp and smooth while I'm a decent distance from the router. I sure didn't expect to find a purpose for that otherwise-entirely-useless 4K screen on the Xperia XZ Premium, but here we are.
